In case you missed the update about this pregnancy being considered high risk, you can read it here – What I haven’t said about my pregnancy. I’m going back to where I left off and doing bump progress shots, with more information about what we’ve learned along the way about our baby girl and her medical issue. All of these leading up to 33 weeks are written in past tense, just from what I remember was going on. I want a record for myself, for my little girl and to help anyone else who may find themselves in a similar situation.
February 13th – February 19th
How big is baby? She is the size of a rutabaga and is approximately 13.6-14.8″ long and 1.5-2.5 pounds, which means I was right last week when I said they’re going to keep these measurements for awhile and just change out for round vegetables!
How I’m feeling? You can see in the bump pic that I’m standing against a navy wall – that’s the color Ezra chose for his room. We painted one wall that color and left the rest the “antique white” that we have throughout our house. Oddly enough, the navy really toned down the white and made it look kinda cool.
We worked a lot on Ezra’s room that week, but we also decided to formally announce to Facebook/the world that we were having a girl. I think most everyone knew already anyway, except for a few exceptions of people we just hadn’t had a chance to tell, but I’d had this idea in my head for forever of how I wanted to announce. I shared the photo here on the blog back then, but I’ll share it again because I think it’s so cute –
Any cravings or weird dreams? I must say, I have had way less weird dreams with this pregnancy than I did with Ezra. It seemed like every time I turned around with him, I was dreaming about something weird (being a zombie, being a Mexican man, running from zombies, Ellen DeGeneres installing a pool in my living room….). No cravings this week, either.
Any other details? Valentine’s was that weekend, and Ezra spent it with my parents so Alex and I could have a date. We had hibachi and went up to IKEA, which may not sound like your idea of fun but we enjoyed it! We were planning on buying the mattress for Ezra’s bed, but they were sold out. Instead, we got a few other things, including a nightstand that matches Ezra’s bed. It was a good trip, except for not being able to buy a mattress.
This week I also had my monthly OB appointment and my doctor put in the order for an ultrasound, which I had on the 16th. We were told there would be ultrasounds every 3-4 weeks so I was due for one, having not had my last one since January 14th when all of this was confirmed. Baby was measuring great, and I didn’t realize it at the time but now I can see on the report that even then (actually, even back during my MRI at the end of January), I had elevated fluid levels but nothing crazy at that point.
