January 1st, 2012-January 7th, 2012
*No 25th Week bump photo, unfortunately, so instead here’s a comparison between 14 weeks and 24 weeks!*
How big is baby? I can hardly believe it, but we can finally say goodbye to the papaya and hello… eggplant! The baby is measuring about 13.6 inches to 14.8 inches and weighs about 1.5 to 2.5 pounds. By the look of this description, I’m wondering if we’ll be at eggplant again next week, too.
How I’m feeling? Great! I’ve got a lot of energy still and have been working on cleaning out all the main rooms of our house. We plan to work on the garage tomorrow… that will be quite a feat. We haven’t cleaned or organized the garage since we moved in almost two years ago.
I don’t know if it’s the new year but I’ve also been feeling really driven to get a lot of things accomplished over the next several weeks/months. I have a lot of personal/professional goals I want to work on, not to mention the things around the house I’d like to do. I might make a list post about this just to keep me accountable.
Any cravings, weird dreams or other symptoms? I’m still craving sweet stuff but am kind of done with pears and fruit. I still eat fruit, but I’m not nearly as obsessed with it as I was. Instead, now I am obsessed with soup. Any kind of soup. And chili. Since I couldn’t eat chili for the first 4 months of this pregnancy, I am making up for that by having chili multiple times a week. I just can’t get enough! To see some of the soups and chilis I’ve been making, check out my recipe board on Pinterest.
Any other details? This past week, Alex and I made sure the car seat we registered for will fit in both our cars. I was concerned because Alex drives a Scion xA, which is a compact car. But, thankfully, there was nothing to worry about!
I also got the details on one of my showers – the one my mother- and sister-in-law are throwing for me. It’s coming up on February 25th and I cannot wait! I picked out the menu with my sister-in-law and saw the invitations she’s using. They are so cute, with little duckies on them.
I also have maternity photos coming up on the 14th. I am so excited about these! Although I have no idea what I will wear. I have a few ideas but mostly I’m going to leave it up to the photographer to tell me what she thinks will look good. I’m actually doing these photos in two parts, too, which is cool – the first part is the 14th and the second will be at the end of March.
The baby is still moving very consistently, but I also feel him off and on throughout the day. Mostly about 30 minutes after I eat something. My next doctor’s appointment is coming up on the 16th and I can’t wait to hear his heartbeat again. Plus, we still have the 3D/4D ultrasound to look forward to coming up on February 4th. I feel like this last part of the pregnancy is just going to fly by.
