How big is baby? He is the size of a cantaloupe. It’s getting serious now that we’re in the melon family! He is 10.2 ounces and 6.5″ long. Phew!
How I’m feeling: This week I’m feeling good – my energy is still up and I’m in a major cleaning mode. I can’t wait until this semester is over (only 1 more class!) and I can focus on cleaning my house and putting up Christmas decorations. We put the tree up this weekend but nothing else.
This past Thursday was my and Alex’s four year wedding anniversary so that was very exciting. I felt so blessed – we were celebrating four years and have accomplished so much, and now we have a baby on the way!
Any cravings, weird dreams or other symptoms? I have been craving a lot of salads, which must mean I’m deficient in vegetables. I am really bad at snacking during the day – I just don’t do it. I really need to change that, though, because it’s an easy way to sneak in extra veggies and fruits.
I know I’m having weird dreams because I will briefly remember them when I wake, but then they’re gone. I really need to start writing them down.
Any other details? I was talking with my cousin, who is a huge birth plan advocate, about the doula situation. We actually signed up for Bradley Method birth classes but now I am second-guessing that. My cousin suggested I try this other website to search for local doulas, so I gave it a shot and lo and behold…. I found a doula in Northern Kentucky. She must be the only doula in this area because all of the other ones I have found live all around the Cincinnati area. I emailed her and I really, really hope it works out for us to meet and that her schedule is clear around my due date. I liked her website – she seemed really personable.
In other news, we have been on a Great Crib Search for weeks on end. Who knew this would be such a difficult decision? I’ve mentioned before, but our nursery is pretty small and we have limited space for where the crib can go and how big it can be. Until this point, the competition was between an Oeuf crib or the Manchester crib (by Carters) at Babies R Us. But now I am not sure about either of those. I don’t like the darkness of the Manchester crib or the headboard curve, and I don’t like how modern the Oeuf crib is. So it’s back to the drawing board.
